A Love Of Learning
Meet Chris. Chris lives on Vancouver Island with his Home Share family, their two dogs, and their cat. Along with Home Share, Chris also receives services through Communitas’ Community Inclusion (CI.) He has been part of Communitas for a long time and he loves it. He’s made lots of friends and enjoys being together with them and with his support staff.
Chris has a wide variety of interests. He attends sewing classes at the local community centre and loves it. He’s already sewed a variety of items including stuffed animals and a SpongeBob SquarePants heating pad. Campbell River has a large library and Chris likes to visit there as well. He prefers children’s books because the stories are interesting and the illustrations are fun to look at. One of his favourite things to do with his CI worker, John, is go for walks, especially when they get to go cruising along Miracle Beach. He likes to collect rocks as well as drift wood, from which he makes picture frames.
John enjoys his time with Chris.
“He is a treat to work with and to explore new things with. He really does love to learn about new things,” John says. “I truly appreciate his sincerity, caring, and compassion.”
